SHTC May 31, 2020 update

We understand the expectation about playing, especially after the
public announcement and the opening of some clubs today (those clubs
will be part of another jurisdiction, not overseen by the City of
Toronto).  Unfortunately, the situation is not that simple for us.  The
City of Toronto is still working with the North York Tennis Association
to address concerns raised by NYTA member clubs.  We cannot obtain a
permit to operate until that first step is done. There will be
conditions which the SHTC executive will then evaluate against our
ability to fulfill.  There are still a few steps to be completed before
we can make a final statement as to the club’s position this year.

SHTC May 18, 2020 update

An announcement was  made by the Ontario Premier on Thursday May 14th that playing tennis will be allowed starting on Tuesday May 19th.
Unfortunately  It will not be this Tuesday May 19th . ALL community clubs are still waiting for guidance from the City of Toronto and OTA (Ontario Tennis Association) on how to maintain a safe environment for all players before, during and after playing tennis. Also, we are waiting for ICTA (Inter-County Tennis Association) and NYTA (North York Tennis Association) as to if  there will be doubles leagues this year, and what rules will be applied.  This season will be definitely be different from any that we have experienced In the past.
Thanks for your patience. As soon as we have news and guidelines we will keep you posted via email and our website.

SHTC 2020 Update

The City has mandated that all community tennis clubs must remain closed until June 30th to help slow the spread of COVID-19.

As a result the Club Opening date, ICTA and NYTA leagues have been put on hold. We will continue to monitor the situation. Once we hear from the City we will let you know what our plans are for the remainder of the season.

2018 Club Tournament Results

Congratulations to David Wagman for both his enthusiasm, and for winning the Challenge Ladder and Singles Tournament this year at the club.  David didn’t lose a singles match the entire season.  Great job David!
Congratulations to Zack Li and Henry Jiang for winning the Men’s Doubles Tournament this year.
Note that the winner of the Mixed Doubles Tournament was still undecided at this point.  Lastly, there unfortunately was little interest in a Ladies Doubles Tournament this season.

Thanks to everyone who participated in the Challenge Ladder and the Club Tournaments this season!
